Wedding Party

There are many members of a wedding party that often carry or wear flowers during a wedding. From the bride’s maids to the ring bearer to close family, at Blooming Blossoms we provide the perfect floral accessories.

Bride’s Maids’ Bouquets

When designing the bride’s maids’ bouquets, the bride’s bouquet is kept in mind. The maids’ bouquets act as an important floral accent by complementing the bride’s flowers. The shape of the bouquet is often similar to that of the bride. The flowers used are often the same as some of those used in the bride’s bouquet, but in different colors. The colors of the flowers used correspond to colors in the maids’ dresses.

Boutonnieres

Many members of a wedding party wear a boutonniere including the groom, best man, father of the bride and groom, ring bearer, and other males that are either involved in the ceremony or part of the immediate family. It is becoming more common for female relatives and close friends to also be given boutonnieres to wear for a wedding.
Boutonnieres commonly are comprised of a single flower with greenery. Some are wrapped with ribbon. Less common boutonnieres can be made from starfish and succulents. The flowers that are usually used in the boutonnieres are chosen based on the bouquets of the wedding party – the groom’s will match the bride’s bouquet while the other boutonnieres will use a flower from the bride’s maids’ bouquet.

Corsages

May women involved in a wedding (especially mothers and grandmothers) are commonly given pin or wrist corsages.
Pin corsages are similar to boutonnieres – they can be made of ribbons and flowers from the wedding. Unlike boutonnieres, these floral accessories will usually match the color of the dress of the person wearing it, although one color will usually be used for all of the corsages.
Wrist corsages are designed on pearl bracelets, lace wristlets, and jeweled wristlets. Most wrist corsages look like bracelets with flowers. Although the flowers used are commonly found elsewhere in the wedding, the color of the flowers will typically go with the dress of the person wearing the corsage.

Nosegays

Another new trend is for the mothers of the bride and groom to be given small bouquets that are called nosegays. These commonly match the dress the mother is wearing more than the rest of the wedding flowers.

Flower Girls

Flower girls are given a variety of different accessories. They can carry baskets of petals, pomanders (flowers that are built into a fully round, ball shape with a ribbon to carry), small bouquets and floral wands. Many times they will wear flowers in their hair or a crown made of flowers. These flowers usually coordinate with the bride and the bride’s maids and provide consistency throughout the event.
